Free online photography workshop this weekend!
Okay this post’s title sounds like an advertisement rofl. Rest assured, it isn’t, and it’s going to benefit you a LOT if you are a photographer, be it hobbyist or professional. I spotted this website about a month ago when I heard of their workshops… and so here it is, without further ado –

Explore the Light with Rick Sammon! Learn how to master all kinds of lighting setups using speedlites, small strobes, constant lights, spiderlites, and available light. There is still time to sign up for this information-packed photography weekend.
This weekend Rick explores all types of photography. From shooting people, travel, and even a look at macro photography. We’re going to be busy!
Just for those who are interested! It’s totally free, all you need to do is stay up at 12am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Malaysia time) because that is when they are on air!
Check it out here – http://www.creativelive.com/courses/rick-sammon-photography-weekend
(this post is definitely not sponsored lol, if I was sponsored for this I’d be some superstar lulz!)

HOW-TO: Tightening your lens hood
Most of you out there should know what a lens hood is if you own a user. Lens hoods are designed with two primary goals: one is to prevent damage to lenses, and two, to block out stray light. Lens hoods are attached onto lenses like bayonets – you place them in place and turn them to lock them in place. However, after a while, they tend to become loose and are easily detached. Now you wouldn’t want that to happen, would you?
In my case, the lens hood I got was very loose to begin with. It was a 3rd party lens hood which cost me RM50 (no joke!) and so therefore, after reading an article over at PetaPixel, decided to do a very simple DIY trick to solve my lens-hood-stability woes.
Sticking tape!
It is in fact a very, very easy DIY. Before we start, we’ll need:
1. A pair of scissors.
2. Some tape (I used cloth tape, but any type will do)
3. A lens.
4. A matching lens hood.
Scissors and tape
Once you’ve got all 4, we may proceed.
