DCIM 2011
Hello blog – it’s been a looong while.
-
Went for DCIM 2 days ago with a friend, initially only expecting the sensor cleaning & talks. It turns out that my expectation was what I got.
Contrary to what I thought DCIM was, it is merely just big booths by the major camera brands (funny, Nikon didn’t participate in DCIM this year, same with Sony) and at the other half, individual booths (which didn’t really have much either – tried looking for 3rd party lens hoods and none sold them). Either way, the talks by the pros were enlightening – what I was expecting, and certainly it was great listening to people such as Grace Tan and Brian speak about their experiences.
Anyway, just a few photos to sum it all up for you.
This was going on the cheap, for RM199 only (I’ve only been able to find people selling it on LYN for 270 so probably that’s a steal) – too bad I’m not a Polaroid-crazy fan, or I would’ve bought it on the spot.
Canon had on display some of their best lenses – the 400, 600 and 800 amongst the 6 big white bazookas available for the public to try out. Too bad the cameras were locked down, so it wasn’t much of an interesting thing to do, looking into the viewfinder and seeing a wall. LOL.
Some uncle testing out the 800mm (if I’m not mistaken)
Got bored, so headed out to MV to snap a photo of their huuuuge Christmas tree.
And there’s a random shot to end this post.
Merry Christmas, everybody!
